#HATEISAVIRUS is a movement that was established to combat racism and xenophobia against Asians fueled by COVID-19. For Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month in May 2021, #HATEISAVIRUS teamed up with the LA Rams to create a limited edition shirt where all proceeds would go to Hate Is A Virus and Asian Americans Advancing Justice - LA. I was asked to illustrate the design for this shirt. My prompt was to include Hate Is A Virus, football, Los Angeles, and Asian/Pacific Islander elements.
When #HATEISAVIRUS was established in the spring of 2020, I volunteered to design social media assets advertising their first Raise A Million virtual rally event. I created a color block pattern to use as a background using the 6 colors of the Raise A Million color palette. The full virtual rally can be viewed here.
#HATEISAVIRUS collaborated with 17 artists from around the world to create a zine of Hate Is A Virus themed art. I helped design the layout of the pages consisting of each artist's bio and artwork. I created my own illustration which was included along with my artist bio. Cover art by Jannet Liaw.
